Vaccination of foreigners – covid-19
On 11 June 2021, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (hereinafter the “Ministry”) launched a reservation system for registration for vaccination against COVID 19 for self-payers, i.e. for persons that are not insurees in public health insurance in the Czech Republic. This has opened up the chance for foreigners to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Czech Republic.

Self-payers will pay the costs of vaccination against COVID-19 at the relevant vaccination centre.
The maximum price of one dose is CZK 810.
Pojišťovna VZP, a.s. will fully reimburse its clients who have concluded Foreigners’ Comprehensive Medical Insurance – Plus and Exclusive for vaccinations against COVID-19.
Pojišťovna VZP, a.s., will pay the costs of vaccination based on a request.

A refund can be requested in the following ways:
- Online reports by foreigners at the website: https://pu.pvzp.cz
- Send the completed first page of a Notification of Insurance Event form (https://www.pvzp.cz/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/OSU-ZPC-10.pdf) by e-mail together with the requested documents.
- Hand over at any branch of Pojišťovna VZP, a.s., the completed first page of the Notification of Insurance Event form (https://www.pvzp.cz/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/OSU-ZPC-10.pdf) together with the requested documents.

Based on a statement of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic on the vaccination of foreigners, we would like to inform you that, in the next few weeks, the vaccination reservation system will also be made opened up to foreigners who are residing in the Czech Republic on the basis of a long-term residence permit, who have a temporary residence in the Czech Republic, or who have a temporary residence in the Czech Republic (in the event of EU citizens).
These persons will be recorded in the system of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic as private payers and they will be sent by the reservation system to several vaccination points that have concluded a contract with the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
In principle, the vaccination points to which these private payers will be sent vaccinate only with Pfizer / BioNTech Comirnaty vaccines. A binding list of vaccination points will be established this week or the next.
Pojišťovna VZP, a.s., will reimburse clients for the vaccinations cost incurred by those of its clients who have taken out any comprehensive foreigners’ insurance, i.e. Foreigners’ Comprehensive Medical Insurance Plus or Foreigners’ Comprehensive Medical Insurance Exclusive.
The exact cost of vaccination is not known at this time. Payment for the vaccination will have to be made by the client on the spot and this amount shall be subsequently reimbursed to the client in full upon request.
